Candidate Profile
Position: Mechanical (Design) Engineer
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Purpose:Primarily to support installation of multiple converting lines in various location in Middle East and Africa. However, these newly purchased lines would be customised before installation to meet local market need.
Secondly, to design changes required in existing converting lines to meet various market demands.
Roles &Responsibilities:The key responsibility will be to own the entire process of "customisation of new production line" as well as own the process of making changes to the existing lines. To discharge these responsibilities the Candidate will have to do:
Some design work
Prepare clear Design execution documents.
Prepare material list and plan resources.
Procure additional components
Supervise installation work
Commission installed equipment
Wrap up projects.
The role will require working closely with the Owner's regional Technical leader, Owner's global Technical organization, Owner's engineering project delivery teams, Owner's corporate technical resources, site project leaders, and key vendors & suppliers.
Work Experienc: 5 years of experience in similar role or roles with design responsibilities.
Education:
Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
Project Management Skills:
Must be capable of leading Engineering scope (coordinating with other technical disciplines) according to evolving project phases, e.g. Scope Definition, Design Development, Bid Preparation and Supplier Selection, Construction and Close out.
Fundamental cost Estimation
Scheduling and resource planning
Should have experience of developing and supporting Commissioning Qualification and Varification Plan (CQV Plan), working with the Operations team.
Vendor and Supplier Management Skills:Must be capable of working with International Suppliers and look for cost saving opportunities.
Leadership:Demonstrated capability to work effective in multifunctional teams, influential in engaging and leading people for project execution.
Effectively understand customer's and overall project needs from a technical, business and environment standpoint.- Set clear priorities, and own results.
Language :Language of English language proficiency to be able to effectively interact in meetings and conference calls with people from different geographies.

Currently we are looking for a Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineer to support one of our Client ( a global MNC) who will shortly undertake a project to install several converting lines in Cairo and other parts of ME and Africa. The selected candidate will be employed by SDPL and seconded to the Client for the duration of the project.
